ADD Aquilano Design Division is the new branch related to Architecture, Civil
Engineering and Design of Studio Aquilano, a consulting naval engineering and
design company, which was founded in 2008 by Mr Saverio Aquilano, whose
professional profile is characterised by a technical background as a Naval Architect and Marine Engineer and by a solid managerial know-how gained in a 20 year-experience.
ADD is formed by a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, interior,
landscape and urban designers who have a proven ability to deal with a variety of complex projects at different scales.
The background of our collaborators allows us to offer integrated design solutions across a wide range of building typologies. They had experiences in Italy and international offices in Denmark, Netherlands and Spain, where they had been involved in the design of public and private buildings. They collaborated in important projects and competitions concerning universities, cultural spaces, concert halls, housing, resorts, retail spaces and building renovation.
Besides the architectural scale, they have experience in urban planning,
masterplan of urban regeneration and design of public spaces, too.
In designing interior spaces the feautures of the Made in Italy are our references:
that is why we aim to the utmost care of each tiny detail and propose solutions
where aesthetics, functionality and efficiency match in a perfect balance.
Thanks to the support of several consultants, ADD is able to follow a project in
each phase, from concept design to construction documents, and it supports its
clients through the full process, maintenance included.
The education background in Sustainable Architecture of some of the team
members allows us to propose integrated solutions aimed to optimise the energy model of a building, from the efficiency of its skin to the reduction of energy consumptions.
Research is the backbone of our design methodology because we are convinced that this phase is crucial to conceive an innovative and high-quality project which is able to satisfy our client’s expectations, in respect of regulations, program, environmental issues and budget needs.

Our collaborators have developed relevant analytic skills since they have been integrating their professional practice also with research and teaching activities in several Universities, such as “Politecnico di Milano”, “La Sapienza” in Rome and Havana’s Faculty of Architecture.
