The Patio villa is a pilot project, a residential prototype we want to propose as a model of sustainable architecture for UAE. In this project the Italian Design is in each single element, in the care for details and materials, in the choice of furnitures, in the spatial quality of interiors, in the design of the outdoor spaces.

A patio house is the perfect solution for the specific conditions and peculiarities of UAE climate. It is protected towards the outside, especially from the heat and solar radiation and guarantees an high level of privacy. On the other hand, it has an open and permeable character inside, which allows to have bright interior spaces and a strong connection with the domestic outdoor areas.

The volumetric study of the villa is set in order to have three levels of outdoor spaces on different heights: patios on the ground floor, terraces on the first floor and rooftops on the highest level. Those outdoor spaces are connected by a continuous path, through two linear stairs, which are located along two perimetral walls. The result is a kind of ‘Outdoor Raumplan’, namely a spatial sequence of outdoor areas on different levels.
